Welcome

Welcome to the newly re-activated WESCC blog, on which I will post all sorts of stuff about the team and the forthcoming season etc so check back on a regular-ish basis. There will be factual stuff mixed with irreverent tosh.

WESCC have been missing from the Southampton Evening Cricket League since 2008 and I personally haven’t been involved since 2006 so it’s good to be back.
The current position (7th April) regarding players is this...

The following say "virtually every week."
Steve Paul – a run machine, bats like Kieron Pollard’s sister Vicky, run rate of 3.00 per 100 balls
Shaun Tongs – legendary coach from Hythe
Colin Day – legend of just about every club in Southampton over the past 30 years
Glen de la Cour – keeps like a lumberjack, bats like someone who can’t bat
Mike Head – yet to establish a speciality
Phil Jewell – will carry the bowling attack on his own
Geoff Edwards – will be carried by Phil
Nigel Hubbard - actor

The following say “most of the time”.
Rob Faulkner – refuses to bat with Steve Paul, that’s the opening pair sorted then
Mike Edwards – a new definition of “most of the time” may be required. Village.
Rob Saunders – from Sunderland not Newcastle. A PTI in the Army if you fancy getting that wrong
Kelvin Sequeira – knows more about support bandages and knee braces than anyone else
Jonjo Stovell – friends call him FOT, everyone else calls him F*king Orange Twat

The following say “give us a ring when you’re short”
Lee Forster – bringing variety to the bowling attack
Clive Davison – hasn’t played since 1974

Happy days, bring it on.
